So here it is, the first step in the journey. That priceless moment when you hang suspended and nearly motionless as the momentum of the roller coaster cart inches agonizingly over the zenith of the first hill.
What lies beyond? Excitement? Fun? Queasiness of varying degrees? All that and more, I'd wager.
Well enough of all that.
The assault on hell begins now, where I'm gonna throw out a link to a website I came across years and years ago... long before the word blog had even entered our vocabulary. Yet there's really no other way to describe this site than as a blog. The entries run the gamut from outright hilarious to outright disturbing, but ceaselessly entertaining. Way back when I wrote this guy an email expressing my appreciation for his work, and he replied to tell me my accolades had made him "giddy as a school girl." So I'm going to take that as implied permission to quote him from time to time.
If that turns out not to be the case, he's in England and I'm not. So at least I have the Atlantic to protect me.
Regardless, here's the link to Michael Kelley's Page of Misery, the first blog I ever found, way back in the primordial soup that was the year 2001.
